When the Kente cloth became popular a few years back, many people couldn’t help but join the Kente train. Now, we’ve got lots of people sharing photos of their kente styles on Instagram and Pinterest. This post will show you the latest kente styles 2017 has in store for you.

Many of them never knew that the Kente originated from the Ashanti Tribe of Ghana over 3 centuries ago. Yes, over 300 years ago. The Kente is to Ghana what the Agbada has become to Nigerians.

Over time, the Kente piece of clothing has left the shores of its native country Ghana and has been exported to several parts of the world. The word Kente means basket. There’s a myth behind the kente, but just so you don’t get bored, I won’t share the myth with you.

The colors on the Kente cloth represent various values and concepts and signifies something. These colors add beauty and a touch of finesse to the kente cloth, making sure that kente styles will never go out of fashion. This video below shows the brief history of the Kente and makes mention of some of the colors and what they represent.

According to a post on BuzzGhana, there are over 300 different patterns of the kente cloth. This shows the diversity that can be found with African wears. Each pattern has its own meaning. Moreover, each shape signifies something.

I thought I had seen it all… not until I came across Carole’s Cardinal Sewing Nest. There are tons of posts up on her blog where she shares her favorite style tips and sewing designs, but one caught my attention the most. It was her post on DIY clothes.

Why did she do this?

In her words, she “wanted to refashion a men’s shirt into an off-the-shoulders blouse.”

The end result was nothing short of spectacular. Kudos Carole! You did a great job.

Her name is Carole Cardinal and she’s a wonderful woman. No wonder she could make such a wonderful masterpiece. She holds a degree in fashion design and another in textile management. Carole is creative and she “loves to make things with her hands whilst enjoying the creative process”.

Hi there, apparently, we’re yet to come to terms with the fact that eight year old Alonso Mateo dresses like a male model for notable designs… Well, we stumbled upon yet another awesome individual.. He’s one of the world’s oldest stylish men. He’s about 86 years old.

His name is Ali and he is a tailor, carrying his brand image wherever he goes. That’s free advertising, you know?

This old man was photographed by documentary photographer Zoe Spawton in 2012 after she noticed that the octogenarian with dual citizenship was the leader of the “stylish men” of his age. Zoe captured several shots of the old man for over three years and opened a tumblr blog she titled “What Ali Wore” to which she posted his handsome images. Talk about style, he has it!

Ali walks the streets of Berlin everyday in different breathtaking suits that made people wonder who his stylist was.

You think you’ve got a degree in style and fashion? Wait until you meet eight year old Mateo Alonso,one of the few fashion kids to join the holders of the title of the most stylish kids on social media. At the age of 5, Mateo set the Internet ablaze with hot pictures of himself wonderfully dressed. He has won so many hearts and made so many new friends with his charismatic smile and model like pose.

To show how much people love him, his photos go viral on Instagram and Facebook immediately it is shared on both platforms.

Alonso’s suits are tailor made and his sense of style makes him an inspiration to fashion conscious adult males who envy his exquisite pocket squares, untucked shirts with neatly rolled sleeves and designer blazers…

So what’s the kid’s secret?

Well, his mother is a freelance stylist from Laguna Beach California. She said she didn’t force her son to wear any of such stylish cloths, but that he picked interest in wearing such clothes at the age of three…

“I would put a scarf or a beanie on him and he wouldn’t mind. After a while, when he was 3 almost 4, he started asking me for bow ties and suits!”, she said. When we go shopping, if he wants loafers just like his daddy and I can afford them, I get them. As long as it’s nice quality, I’ll take it”.

“I don’t know if it’s because he’s an only child and he’s surrounded by so many grown-ups that he kind of wants to replicate what everybody around him is wearing? I don’t think he really notices he’s fashion forward. He’s too young.” His mother Lucia Fernanda believes her son’s fashion sense is often influenced when he sees grown up males living around him stylishly dressed.

All thanks to Alonso, his mother’s Instagram account now has more than 130,000 followers while her son’s account sits atop the list of fashion kids with huge Instagram followers.

When Alonso was asked what he thought about his fame on the Internet, the cute kid had this to say…

“I love suits, sneakers and sunglasses. I like to dress like my dad, because he has cool suits”.

Gigi Hadid is taking after Kendall Jenner with the mesh Yeezy pair of “the naked shoes” she was seen wearing in Manhattan some days ago. Gigi’s looks resembled the Lucite style Kendall had rocked earlier on, although there were clear differences as Gigi had a more didn’t wear a fishnet like styled socks like Kendall did.

Gigi rode on to something cool as she rocked a well streamlined joggers which lent her outfit a flattering line. It was simply an exquisite mixture of athletic minded pieces and a fancy but not so common footwear.  She then sealed the deal by complimenting her style with a Sophie Hulme bag, a somewhat oversize pair of sunglasses, and a Kith quilted nylon flight jacket.
